    Question Can't uninstall ATI software

When I try to uninstall ATI multimedia center I get an error 2 transform package. Something called DAO won't uninstall and neither will multimedia center.

    I'm calling ATI.

Did you try using the catuninstaller.exe?

Not only did I run the catuninstall but the Windows uninstaller. The old version 0f 8.2 media center didn't show up on the windows uninstaller list, so I deleted all of the files. But 8.2 is still on the Add/Remove list. Maybe there is something from 8.2 conflicting. I tried Safe Mode but no luck. TV Wonder Pro PCI card.

Ouch. At this point my route would be to do a reformat and clean windows reinstall, for me it would be quicker than dealing with it further.

do a complete ati software reinstall of your current driver/associated software package, then remove. if just one file is missing, the uninstall will not workie....

    bummer

Nice try but now that I uninstalled and reinstalled the DAO and The Multimedia Center, whenever I open the app the installer comes on and I get an error that a dll won't load. Error 0x80040702. The installer won't stop. So there is only a partial installation.

again, if you reinstall the OMPLETE ATI software/driver package (you may have to do this TWICE because of the TWO media center versions), then do an uninstall all the files should be there for proper removal.

once you do one, then reinstall the other version, then uninstall. you can then use driver cleaner after the last uninstall to catch anything that may be left over.

been there, done it, with ATI and other software with the samo problemo. no need to reinstall the OS(yes, it will solve the problem, but you will never know how to fix it the next time), unless you want to waste some more time.

    later,
