    What does the USB symbol mean?


    What do the vector, circle and square stand for?

    It's an symbol for end-users to identify with. The square, circle, and triangle, just represent the different components that the bus will connect. Nothing mystical about it. No deeper meaning here, although I'm sure some tinfoil wearing psycho, will come up with something.

    Oh yeah to top it all off, the three symbols stem outwards from the main line. That represents a serial connection, if it was parallel there would be three seperate lines for each of the symbols.

    "The USB logo was modeled to resemble the Dreizack (Neptune's Trident) but with different shapes representing all sorts of devices that can be joined together. The designer basically saw that the icon had three triangles at the top, so he turned it into a triangle, a square, and a circle."
    There is the theory of the moebius. A twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop.

    Its interesting you should say that. I found a different history and meaning behind it.
