Upgrade from Audigy2ZS to X-fi extreme gamer worth it ?

I read a review on the X-fi gamer card - the fact that it can do "surround sound" with the "CMSS-3D Headphone" setting is tempting.

I recently bought a set of Senn HD-555s and love them. I can just imagine surround sound in these !

I did the same upgrade and I dont regret it one bit. Xifi is great card, especially if you use headphones.

I wouldn't and I had the Platinum version. The headphone feature isn't that great and highly subjective. Maybe you might think the difference is worth it but it wasn't for me. BTW I was using the AT A500.

    I'd do it.

I've been very impressed with my X-Fi for gaming.

And I think that the positional audio is very good... especially for headphones.

    I scored a Xi-fi extreme gamer for $46 after $30 rebate..

anyway I upgraded from my 8 year old Sound Blaster LIve 5.1

and the sound quaity on headphone is a BIG difference in games.

sound effects seems to be more clear, loud and vibrant.

also the surround positioning using headphone is alot better.

with my SB live I was playing STalker.. I hear a helicopter but I would have to look around like a an idiot to find it.

but with the x-fi. I can tell what direvction the sound is comming from
