    Office 2007 retail

Are there any places out there with good deals on Office 2007 editions? (e.g. Pro/Ultimate) Or are they all pretty much the same? Newegg and amazon seem to be matched, but I'm not sure about other places.

Just wanted to check before I put down the cash. I'll probably go for Ultimate, because I want access, and it's only about $100 more than Pro. I just don't want to buy it and then see it for $100 less a week later.

You are not going to see much of a price difference for this software.

On second thought, I think I'll just go for the Home & Student version of it.

I did find some ~$50 deals on Ultimate, but I can't tell if the seller is trying to pull a fast one on me. Home & Student has the best deal at amazon.com, so I feel safer with that.

Is Home & Student the only one where you get to install it on 3 PC's?

If you find something out there with a ridiculously low price, it is always someone selling something that is not legal. This is a common problem. Often they might sell a Student Edition to anyone for a low price, for an example. Another I've seen in the past is where they sell you a media kit, and give you volume key to use. It's not legal at all. They key isn't valid, and you have no COA.

If you don't get a COA with your software, and if you don't meet all of the criteria for certain licensing (such as being a student for student edition), then the software isn't legal.

(Oh, just to clarify, by $50 deal I meant $50 below amazon.com, not $50 for the whole thing )

The site I was looking at was www.viosoftware.com. I see posts here and there that suggests it's fine, but something just seems off about it. Also, some of the posts sound like they're coming from someone who works there. But most of their prices are normal market value. I just feel like there must be a reason why office ultimate is $50 less than everywhere else though.

If you can get the student version AcademicSuperStore is a great place to go.

I second hongsc. AcademicSuperStore appears to be a reputable seller.
