I'm (very very slowly) learning my way through the steps to create a ramdisk based Linux install that boots from a CF card. (This is part of my custom built NAS project)
The system boots from an initrd image on the CF card and loads into ram.
I'm currently working from a Slackware base, with busybox and samba. However, one of the things that has eluded mention in anything I've read...
How do you save configuration changes, usernames, passwords, etc. in a ramdisk based OS?
I know that routers, NAS boxes, etc. from commercial companies use similar ramdisk based OS's, so obviously there is a way.
Am I missing something simple?
