How to get best sound from computer????

Hey everyone, ok im basically going to be using my computer my computer for my new plasma and am wondering what I should get to get the best audio out of my system? Should i use an optical out from my sound card to a reciever, OR should i buy agood quality analog speakers that all have their own analog inputs? Also if i do end up getting my sound card to send to a reciever than what is the highest quality output i can use to send to the reciever?

A pair of decent stereo speakers coupled with a receiver via digital coax/optical will generally sound a lot better than a 2.1 multimedia speaker system. Try out some different options and see what you think.
