After playing Far Cry 2, I'm simply unable to go back to straight and simple first-person shooters. This game has executed my expectations. [Nov 2008, p.62]

    SecuROM DRM

Up to 5 activations on 3 PC's from what I hear.
Hmm... well maybe it's not so bad? I just hope my bro and I can play it simultaneously (I ain't buying two copies of this game).

Agreed. I've been looking forward to Far Cry 2 for too long. If it turns out the SecuROM doesn't give me trouble, maybe I'll get Crysis Warhead as well.

I hate the publishers too (they're the ones who force DRM), but the developers & artists deserve respect. They probably pulled at least a couple 80-hr weeks getting this game out. I'll buy it first, then maybe browse usenet.

I'm going to do the opposite. Pirate it first then maybe buy it if the online play gets a lot of really good press.

yea really guys, dont mention pirating....they should have a pirating ( bit torrent ) section on sharkys though.

I dont plan on "buying" it. I wasnt impressed with the graphics, they looked simple and dumbed down. I dont like the sepia color scheme. I know theyre trying to be different an' all, and call me crazy, but I like colors.
I'm kinda blah about this game. I dont understand how the scores can be so high on metacritic.

Guess I'll do the "try before you buy" version.

Unless FarCry 2 is somehow different, Steam only uses server-side authentication as DRM. It should not be using SecuROM.

Even if it's kept even more private than the site itself (ie a skull and bones area for veteran members), I don't see how that could benefit anybody here. It's one of those things that just shouldn't be as nonchalant as it is.
