Can I Increase My Laptop's Sound Volume?

Hello, I hope you are well. I have a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop running Windows XP, Service Pack 3. Generally, the sound volume is loud enough, especially for personal usages, but sometimes, I come across Web sites that are incredibly soft for one reason or another. At this point, the laptop's sound volume is too low, even if I turn the volume all the way up. Are there any programs that can increase overall sound volume? I know that I can use an external set of speakers (which I have at home), but carrying around an external set of speakers isn't always practical.

    Thank you.

If you double click on speaker icon on bottom right, it should bring up sound card settings. Make sure that "Wave" volume setting is at max and not muted.
