computer totally dead

so yesterday I went to turn on my computer and nothing happened.

I figured it was just the powerpack and went a bought another one, same wattage rating.

anyway i've replaced it and still nothing at all, i've made sure everything is plugged into the motherboard firmly, no leads hanging out. I thought it was the switch and just put a cap thingy (forget what they are called) across the +/- pins on the MB to act as an always on switch, still nothing.

I've had no surges, the powerpoint works fine, if the motherboard was acting up I could at least power it on but nope.

any help would be great

ok nm was fiddling around with the cables and it's started up at least.
