    Updated the server to 1.9.2.

It was in fact down. Not sure what was going on. I've been sick as a dog since the 1st when we did our datacenter move at work. I'll try to keep a closer eye on it in the future.

Been playing a lot lately. Think I'm kicking the server's *** with a long tunnel I'm building to connect bases.

Possibly. The map has grown quite a bit since bringing the render back online. We have quite the world going these days.

I've been sticking pretty much only to areas that we had already mapped, though I'm deep underground so maybe it is adding that part to the map (not sure if world creation builds all the way down to the bedrock when you're above ground or not).

I do cover a lot of ground with tunnel building, though, so I think where I'm really hitting the server is just loading a lot of the already-mapped geography in-game.

    So...
Update on all this. I've once again turned off the map rendering. It was literally choking out enough resources on the system that it was triggering OOM killer (out-of-memory) process, killing off other processes, including the actual minecraft server!

So no new map updates for now.

But the server was updated to 1.9.4 today.

Update 1.10 is out today. Can you update the server at your earliest convenience James?

That's pretty awesome. Might end up annoying though. Will have to play with it more and see.

Minecraft 1.11 is now up and running on the server.

*Edit: Oh, and I loathe the auto-jump feature. I disabled it nearly immediately.

Auto-jump sounded bad to me from the beginning. I guess I'll give it a shot but I'll likely be disabling it soon as well.

Meant to post this here a week or two ago. My wife and I stumbled upon this while refreshing the map on our home server: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums...thin-2000x2000

EVERY biome in 2000x2000 blocks. It's pretty awesome.

It's up and running now, sorry about that.

I hadn't restarted it after my latest patch/reboot cycle on my server.
