In my opinion, that's what I would certainly do. The 700 dollars saved can go into upgrading to the top-tier Ivy when they launch. Then you can sell the 2600k for around 200 used to recoup money. The Ivys will no only be more powerful, but also more energy efficient.

Intel has said Ivy will be 20% more powerful than the Sandy equivalent. They sport the tri-gate transistors, which can give up to 50% more power savings.

Intel accidentally posted the spec sheet on Ivy's on their website and quickly took it down. Luckily, someone screen captured the table:

The i7-3770K is what you will be looking at. 3.5Ghz base with a 3.9Ghz turbo. This thing is going to scream. I wouldn't be surprised at 5.0Ghz on air with a TDP that low (77w)!

    I love this 2600K.

The Asus BIOS made the overclock a snap and it's rock solid at 4.6 - thanks to SpeedStep and the fact that the processor only peaks while spending most of the time at lower clocks.

LOL, I scratched mine a little harder, got her to 4.31gig stable, I added up how much it would cost to switch to Intel, geesh, $700 plus for a beast MB and 2600K....

Just couldn't justify the costs right now...

    Enjoy your adventure.....

I'd go with the 800D no doubt, because I did go with the 800D Ordered it yesterday from Amazon for 235 free ship. I paired it with a Lamptron FC6, which is going to look awesome. I'm going to do the stealth disk drive trick as well:

    Here's the Lamptron:

The brushed aluminum goes great with the 800D.

I plan to do a full watercooling setup with a 360 radiation that will fit perfectly in the top of the case. The 800D is the perfect case if you desire to watercool later.

Other cases you may want to look into are:
    Silverstone TJ09 or TJ10

    Xigmatek Elysium
