    27inc LCD or 3D 24inch LCD?????

Im stuck between the 2. I am a gamer, and I have all the componts except for the 3D monitor to run 3D. I also have a Blue Ray burner with the 3D Powerdvd program. I cant pay $600 for a 27 inch 3d monitor so Im stuck with 24 if I go 3D. The 27inch non 3ds go for $300 or less these days. What do you guys think?

Remember, the GPU will need to render the scene twice for each eye. This means games will run roughly half as fast than without 3D. Most people need SLI to properly run 3D. Watching 3D movies on a 24" screen will probably lose its luster after about 2 or 3 movies. I would just get the 27" screen. Be sure to look into getting an IPS monitor as well. IMO, I would rather have a great 24" IPS screen than either of those other options if they are just going to be TN panels.

Thanks for the comments for starters. Yes I've been researching all night from yesterday to today and I think Im going in the direction of getting the best possible 27inch non-3d I could get. I watch blue ray movies not often but I enjoy it when I do. All of my games fly maxed settings, so I want to see my graphics looking a little bigger and even better than they currently are. It seems 27 inch monitors go from $300-$400. What are the key specs Im looking for?

27" monitors that are IPS cost 600+, which is why I recommended a 24" IPS for around 399. However, there are good TN panels to be had. The problem with TN panels on large screens is that the screen is so large that the poor viewing angle of the panel can cause the edges of the screen to be slightly discolored by simply looking directly at it. Smaller screens don't have to worry, but it does become an issue with large screens.

I had a 27.5" TN panel and I could definitely tell the color shift simply looking directly at it. Someone else will have to chime in about particular monitors, as I haven't shopped monitors in a while. You may want to check Newegg Openbox for some deals though. I got 2 Asus 24" monitors for 76 dollars last week They are TN panels, but who cares at that price haha.

Dell is a great place to get monitors they are some of the best monitors out there, and their warranty is the best. I just bought a 24" IPS from them for just under 350. I kinda wish I would have went for the 27, but maybe come tax time I will splurge on a 30" and hand the 24" down to the wifey.

Only thing I'm waiting for is DP 1.2 monitors. Need me some daisy-chaining goodness!

you can grab a 23" e-IPS monitors for under $200 during sales

i would do that and wait until 3D tech matures a bit more.. the only 3D disaply that i found impressive is the sony hmz t1 headset
