Wow, talk about a major step foward!

3GB ram, 384-bit bus, memory bandwidth like the hoover dam, insane shader count with clocks to match.

The 7950 looks to be 30% faster than the top of the line current gen card and should crap all over the 580GTX for 150 less. The 7970 is going to kill. I can't wait to see temperature and power consumption!

Supposedly they will release in Dec and be available by early Jan!

I have been wondering when AMD was going to 384 bit memory bus. Nvidia made that move a while ago. I guess if AMD could stick with 256 bit memory bus and still stay ahead of Nvidia why do it. I am not sure what Nvidia has to counter but they might be sweating at this point.

If the HD7950 stays around 300-320, I'll get one. I've been noodling going back to nVidia for Physx support, but I haven't been able to justify it with how skewed the performance at a given price point is in AMD's favor.

I need a new card and have been holding off for a couple of months now. I'll take a 7950, as soon as I can get it.

I love nvidia drivers, but their line up has been pretty stale. The 6950 -> 6970 was a pretty nice bargain. The 580 has been sitting at 500+ for far too long, IMO there just isnt 500 dollars worth of performance there. Even the 570 at 350+ is kind of dumb. It is only 15-20% faster than my old *** 470. However, after overclocking the 470, it is almost pushing 570 numbers. I simply haven't been impressed with nvidias line. The 560TI is a pretty sweet card and 460 in sli are a hell of a bargain.

I'm glad I skipped this gen. From what I've seen, nvidias next line up will just be a die shrink with no major changes... Hopefully they surprise us though. I'll have a 7950 before kepler comes out though, that's for sure.

Nice I'm going wait for Nvidia entry first before doing anything, if anything prices should drop a bit when Nvidia enters. I'm sure the market will be priced to take into account the lack of a competitor at that level.

From what I've heard the low-end and mid-range come out first because of AMD's struggles to get to 28nm.

And once again we'll be only two generations away from model numbers hitting 99xx. Wonder what they'll come up with next time.

Looks like Nvidia isn't showing up with enthusiast replacements until Q3 of 2012! Wow, what a long time to let AMD eat your lunch.
