    That's a little odd ...

What wireless stick do you have? A PCI card in a desktop pc? Internal wireless in a laptop? Or perhaps a USB stick?

Have you gone in to device manager (assuming windows), right click > my computer > manage > device manager (in the left column of the window). It should list your adapter there and have an exclamation mark or say if it isnt running properly/

So you're using Windows 7 on a laptop?

Can you go to device manager and follow the previous steps and tell us what your network adapters are?

When you run ipconfig use the /all suffix to provide more detailed information.
Tunnel adapters usually indicate media disconnected as does Bluetooth.

Typical wireless output will look like this.
    Code:

So you have a dell latitude laptop running windows 7 ..

Your wireless card is a b/g/n mini pci that supports AES, TKIP, WEP, so connecting to secured access points isnt a dilemma, unless you put in the wrong password.

So instead of pasting ipconfigs/netstats, can you go to device manager if you say you're not getting a connection ?

    This part of your info.

Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.109
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

Indicates that you have a valid Wireless card and it connecting to a Wireless Router that its IP is 192.168.1.1

Thus the problem is Not the Wireless per-se.

As ua549 indicated above you have to describe what exactly you are trying to do when it yields the error.

As an example this error can appear if One is trying to connect to a specially configured Wireless sources that his Not his and there is a need for a special logon procedure.
