The best part of both of these cards is power consumption.
If we go by price only the 7750 looks good, the 7770 does not.

Yeah what's up with AMD's pricing? The 7770 is more expensive than the 6850 which is a consistently faster card. Somebody needs to slap management at AMD.
I don't know what AMD is doing. Tom's said it best at the end:
Ignoring the current price of the 6850 for the moment, on average the 7770 delivers 90% of the 6850’s gaming performance for 90% of the 6850’s launch price. In other words in 16 months AMD has moved nowhere along the price/performance curve – if you go by launch prices you’re getting the same amount of performance per dollar today as you did in October of 2010.
This has been my main complaint with the 7 series all along. The pricing is based on last gen performance, so pricing has gone higher than most expected. Including me.
The power consumption isn't really much better than the 5770, which is still just as fine of a card for a HTPC. I don't see any gamer wanting a 7770 and the HTPC crowd is just fine with the 5770, so where does that leave us?
What is really going to be sad is when the reviews of the 7870 come around and it is as power as the 6970 for the exact same price.
EDIT: Actually, I do see that the 7750 doesn't need an external PCI-E power connector. That will be a god send for some, since this is now the most powerful card without external power.

6850 is still the best bang for the buck mid-range card.
Seems kind of sad in a way.
Seriously, I think the problem is extremely poor management. Whoever is in charge doesn't understand the market or worse doesn't care. 7000 is bigger than 6000 so we can charge more right? That coupled with the bunch who let bulldozer out the door makes me think that is the problem.
i would honestly grab a 7770 if i was in the market right now for $150-160 on sale. its a bit slower than my 6870 but the power consumption and size of PCB is nuts
Once these things hit ~140, they could be pretty bad *** in crossfire. I was looking at some charts and they hang with a 7950. Put a little overclock on them and they could really hit some good numbers for 280 bucks. The craziest part about it is that even with TWO in crossfire, they both drink less power than a single 570 .
I wish they made little waterblocks for them, I would have to pick a couple up for fun
