    Xenoblade

The EU version dropped yesterday and I was able to get a copy. I'm about 2 hours in and really enjoying it. It basically feels like a more well rounded version of FF12. There is some getting used to on the controls portion, but once you figure everything out its pretty easy to see how much depth has been added to this game. I see a lot of potential with this game so far.

    Any one else playing?

I remember really enjoying Xenogears on the PS1. Is it similar? Or is this more like Xenosaga, which I didn't really care much for.

Neither. It's like FF12 but in a much bigger world and more dynamic battles.

I like what you are saying here. *obtains*

One of the guys on an IGN podcast I was listening to said he believe this is the greatest JRPG of the current console generation.

    Eurgamer puts it best IMHO:

The real-time battle system is closest to Final Fantasy XII's cog-like mechanisms, while the shower of delicious side quests is pure World of Warcraft, filling the world with chances to shine, great and small. Meanwhile, the expansive wardrobe and huge array of weapons (many of which can be customised with crafted gems to add buffs and debuffs) are reminiscent of the latest Dagon Quest.
It's a well balanced mix and match of previous successful RPG games that just seems to work.

If you do, make sure its a EU Wii or a NTSC with a way to play EU games.

If they don't end up releasing this game in the US I'm just going to be confused.

We've been through a pretty patch with good JRPGs lately. This might hit the spot.

Doesn't matter. That was the whole point behind operation rainfall and all the game coverage of US fans pleading Nintendo to release this as well as Last Story and Pandora's Tower in the US. However, the official word is no current plans for US releases for any of those games.

    IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!

Seems pretty unanimous. I have yet to see one bad thing said amongst all the sites I go to. I only got to play a couple minutes of the first battle but hope to put some time into it tonight.
