    Microsoft updates stuck on update

How do I remove an update request that continues to try to update? I keep getting this alert: I don't even have Wrks loaded up on my computer.

Security Update for Microsoft Works 9 (KB2680317)

    Update type: Important

A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Works 9 that could allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened. This update resolves that vulnerability.

    More information:

    Which OS are you running?

XP - if you manually go to the update site to can make it go away.

If you're using Vista or Win 7 you and also un-select any update you want.

yup, change it to hidden...can be done by just hitting windows update, right clicking the offending update, choose hide, done..

however, if you do not have MSWorks installed on the computer, I would be worried this is something else masquerading around my computer, malware, adware, viri, all sorts of possibilities...

I would be checking them all just to be absolutely sure...

    laterzzzz.....
