    My new computer!!

My computer specs from the last four years:

    AMD Athlon 64 x2 4800+
    4GB PC2700
    250GB IDE 7200RPM Hard Drive
    Geforce 9600 GSO
    17" 4:3 LCD Acer

Now I have the rig in my signature. I bought it all for under $300 and is a huge improvement. The monitor was payment for some computer work I did for someone.

It is a nice improvement. I don't think I could have done better for $300.

That's a nice upgrade for 300. I assume you have a 955 not a B55. Is it a BE? Until AMD get's the performance per core issues fixed with their current FX line up the Phenom II's are still great budget CPU's. I would look to upgrade your video card. If money is tight watch for close out prices on 68xx/69xx. Once they are down the last ones the price might drop significantly. Newegg did that with 5850's last year.

it might be out of your budget. you REALLY need to invest in a SSD. that is the single most noticeable upgrade you will experience and it is used every time from moment you boot up to shutdown.

well worth the cost. if you check prices 60gb is around $50 now. I recently got a Patriot Pyro 60gb for $34 after rebate.
