Steam to expand store to include all applications

Steam announced tonight that they are planning to start distributing all types of applications, not just games beginning September 5th. This definitely puts Gabe's comments into perspective. I'm guessing they are going to try to get the jump on MS. It will be interesting to see if Steam can compete with an integrated store front and how this affects Valve's relationship with Apple.

Don't worry, it'll be at least 75% off during the Winter Sale.

Maya MSRP: $4500 ON SALE: $2000

But actually, that would be awesome to be able to pick up real apps on the sales. I highly doubt it though.
