Just got done with my monk. This was a lot more challenging since the highlights were applied directly with paint as opposed to the dry brush technique. I plan to use this guy at my D&D weekly Adventure league game.

I finally did it. I finally tried painting a thing!

I don't like the way he came out, but I learned a lot while trying to paint him. The next one will be better.

Nice! The first step is always the hardest but it gets easier the more you try. Congrats man!

Looks good man! That's the same thing I recently painted Made it through a big chunk of the bad guys but got sidetracked and still haven't gone back to finish the heroes.

If you haven't come across it already there is a guy on youtube under the name "Sorastro's Painting" that has some well done paint tutorials specifically for these.

I'm following Sorastro's videos! His videos are what gave me the confidence to try painting this stuff. I'm using a different set of paints than what he has, so I'm not able to follow his instructions exactly, but I've made due.

My latest guy is on the left here:

I think I need to spray more before applying the wash so they start out brighter, because highlighting them back up to where I think a Stormtrooper should be feels impossible.

I see what you are saying, but I dig the "dingy" look yours has to it. Feels like they could be part of a darker Star Wars film or show.

Thank you for saying so. The dirty look is really starting to grow on me, actually. I think it give them character.

They do look pretty good on the table.

It's a board game with RPG mechanics, so it's not really like D&D. It is apparently a lot like Descent if you've ever played that one (I haven't).

I like it! It's no X-Wing, but it's a pretty damn solid game. I'm eager to try playing with the Skirmish rules one day soon.

I should also say this is the only game I ever played that made me think, "I need to paint those minis." All the components look so good, it is criminal to keep the minis all plain gray.

This game looks so much better with painted minis.
