It looks good to me. I've never played any of this series. Shooting large, hulking metal mech robots might be satisfying, if a little simplistic. What do you think?
I've been in the MWO beta for a few months now but couldn't talk about even being in said beta due to the rather strict NDA. Now that it's in open beta I can talk about it a little bit.
The game is awesome.
Now Playing: Starcraft II, GRID 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf
It's pretty impressive, lumbering about in those giant tin cans, dispensing death and destruction. The environments are great, ditto sound and visual design.
It's surprisingly difficult to get used to because the controls are unique (I play with mouse and keyboard, is joystick even enabled yet?) and I'm finding all the stats a bit of a chore to stay on top of. It seems to me that the game is a form of rock-paper-scissors in which, to win, you need to master spreadsheets-worth of weapon damage and defenses data. This seems a bit tedious to me but I will soldier on in the hope that it becomes less like homework.
I got the Hawken invite a while back, but never installed due to being busy. Based on that review, I think I will prefer MWO, but I guess I will wait and see.
