Question Where's the Deus Ex 2 hype?

There's been hundreds upon hundreds of Half Life 2 and Doom 3 topics, but why hasn't Deus Ex 2 been getting any hype? I think it was the better original game of the 3. The sequel is looking just as impressive as HL2 and D3. Yet the game is getting virtually no hype. Too much hype is usually bad for a game... but i think Deus Ex 2 deserves as much the hype HL2 and Doom 3 gets. Just a thought.

No surprise DE 2 isn't getting any publicity, Doom is one of the biggest game names out there and half life 2 was big cause of CS.

It doesnt need it, the developer is proven, the game play is proven. Hell DEx 2 should be game of the year again hands down, unless it gets lost in the HL2 madness

I'm sure Deus Ex 2 will be getting more hype sooner to its release date. If it doesnt, then Ion Storm may end up going the way of the Looking Glass eventually

I'm glad they aren't hyping it...I don't want to hear anything about the sequel to my favorite game of all time until a few weeks before it's released...which is spring 2004...it annoys the hell out of me to wait wait wait for the game and by the time it's released it just gets old and suddenly I don't care...I like what valve did for hl2...we knew it was happening but we didn't know for sure and they come out of nowhere with all this stuff and set the release date not too far away...that's how it SHOULD be done...

They give us enough info to keep us interested. I personnally feel Doom and HL2 are getting too much hype and setting themselves up for big fall as Both have HIGH expectations!!! But all the hype will help sell a lot of games

It's been pushed back twice from June and Oct. release dates. I read the interview with Warren Spector on IGN (good read) and it sounds like it will be ready 12/2.

Good, I hate overhyped games, they NEVER live up to their expectations.

I loved Deus Ex, and I fully expect this one to be as good or better. That is all the hype I need. I will buy this one based soley on the merits of the first. The same thing goes for HL2, however, I could care less about Doom 3 since Doom games were never built around gameplay, and for some reason I think the case will be the same this time. I would rather buy a good game with poor graphics than a poor game with amazing visuals.

Oh man, how wrong we were. Deus Ex 2 Invisible War was so bad. We would have to wait all the way until August 2011 for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which lived up to the Deus Ex name and saved the franchise. Great job by Square Enix.

HL2 was obviously the best by miles and miles, I thought Doom 3 was really sucky but maybe that's just me.

Don't mind me, just looking at 10+ year old threads.

    For me personally,

Deus Ex 2 turned out to be junk, Doom 3 was pretty bad, and Half Life 2 was a huge disappointment. Not a bad game, but nowhere near as good as the original.

Human Revolution on the other hand is absolutely incredible.
