z97 chipset or z87
From what I can tell, there is not a lot of improvement in the upcoming Z97 chipset from Intel, over last years Z87 chipset.
Look like Z87 motherboard prices are droping, is it better to get a Z87, or does the new Z97 really offer something worth paying more for?

Support for the newer CPU's should you decide to upgrade in the next year or so to a Broadwell CPU.
Increase in the total and max number of 6Gbps SATA ports.
Increase in the number of USB 3.0 ports support (6 instead of 4).
It is in fact a fairly minor upgrade. If any of the above list is worthwhile to you, it could be worth it. Otherwise, if you plan on your next upgrade being post broadwell (whatever the new socket+cpu will be called), then it might be worthwhile to stick with the Z87.
*Edit: Nearly forgot: SATA Express. Basically the next gen of SATA which more or less is a transition to raw PCI Express connected storage.

Upgrading to Broadwell is not that important to me right now.
More SATA and USB ports isn't that critical either.
SATA Express is interesting, but from what I understand, the only way to take advantage of it, is to have a SSD that has SATA Express - is that correct?

I think that benefits of the new version are not worth it to pay extra for them.
