exFAT issue, pls help - urgent

i've a exFAT formatted external HD.
it was working fine between my Mac and Vista OS perfectly. Until i copied some 4.5gb files from Mac to this external HD.
now this external HD cannot be recognized by my Mac, but on Vista it can. However, i cannot delete those 4.5gb files on Vista.
any solutions that i can restore this back to my expected perfect stage?
    thx thx

That's weird... exFAT is supposed to overcome the size limitations (> 4GB) and bridge the gap between Windows & Mac.
If you want to delete the 4.5 GB file (and you have other files backed up), seems like you have to try to format it. I'd try formatting it under Windows though since it's Microsoft's format... let us know if that works.

ok but now the problem is that i can see all files on vista. but there is no option for me to do any delete. all files seem to be on a read-only mode.
any idea how i can just delete those new files i copied over; rather than backing up everything and reformat?
    thanks all again.
