A workstation laptop wishlist, by James
Dear Dell (or any other manufacturer), please create the following system:
- 15" IPS touchscreen 1920x1080 display (preferrably using the "Infinity" display tech of the new XPS 13, seen here.)
- User upgradable RAM, 16GB minimum upper limit.
- Optical drive for when you are on-site at a client/customer who still needs such a thing.
- GbE port because transferring over wireless or on a 100Mb port is ridiculous.
- At least a 4 hour battery life. More is nice, but not required.
- An m.2 x4 PCIe3.0 slot for primary storage
Do that, and I and several of my fellow coworkers and friends would buy it even if it cost between $1500 and $2000.
Crusader for the 64-bit Era.
New Rule: 2GB per core, minimum.
Intel i7-9700K | Asrock Z390 Phantom Gaming ITX | Samsung 970 Evo 2TB SSD
64GB DDR4-2666 Samsung | EVGA RTX 2070 Black edition
Fractal Arc Midi |Seasonic X650 PSU | Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Ultra | Windows 10 Pro x64

Linux certified hardware only please.
Matte non-touch option.
An OPTION for discrete graphics but please don't force it upon users who don't want/need it.
