    Can it be used ?

    I have a lappie with a Cely 925@2.3ghz.
    FSB is 800,socket 478.

    Can someone tell me if I can use a Pentium in its place?
    They are both Socket 478/P/
    Will working voltage, be the same ?

    Can this be done on a place,that has only had celery chips ????

    In theory, yes. As long as the cooling system can handle the increased heat output.

    So I can run a Pentium on it,as long as it is the right socket?

    All I am looking to do, is give it a little more power maybe around 2.5--2.8ghz

    Well I took a chance and installed a T7700 dual core @ 2.40ghz.
    Works great,same TDP 35w

    If it's same TDP, there shouldn't be any problems... usually desktop version of processor run hotter than mobile version. That was the reason for concern.
