looking for new laptop with great video
My boyfriend is looking for a new laptop with excellent video. He does a lot of custom video/editing and while I have been encouraging him to get a Mac, he prefers to go more mainstream. So I suggested he consider a gaming laptop because of the high-quality graphics. Can any of you experts provide some advice as to which brands/models may suit his needs? Of course he wants something fast, primo graphics, lots of RAM and ample HD storage for as little money as possible (preferably under $2000). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For something that would generally fit that bill, and be relatively compact/easily portable, check out the new Dell XPS 15. 15" screen (4K), nVidia GTX 950 mobile GPU w/ 2GB GDDR5 RAM, up to 32GB of RAM (realistically only if you upgrade it yourself with 2x 16GB DDR4 SO-DIMMs, I don't think Dell offers a stock config with that much RAM), SSD or spinning disk, and decent connectivity for it's size.
If you forgo the internal HDD for a faster SSD, you also get longer battery life, and an external hdd connected via USB3.0 will be just as fast as it would be internally. The only major downsides are that it doesn't have an optical drive or a native built-in ethernet port. But those are mostly personal complaints from me.
Not sure about actual gaming laptops, as I haven't looked at one in forever.
