    Cable Connection Speed

I am getting these speeds, not sure what everyone else has been getting lately but I am pleased with this. Sometimes I feel like we need a high end router in order to allocate bandwidth because depending on who is streaming what, we have slow-downs on individual connections.

Nice. I have 50/10 service, usually see about 55/12 out of it. (Business class, so not nearly as much fluctuation I guess.)

    Still running that P4 Prescott?

I get about 120 / 12. I'd sacrifice my dl speed for higher upload. Trying to watch videos on my home network offsite is painful.

Do I get a higher speed if I use VPN? Our internet connection is slow even though I already called our provider and i am subscribed to 32 mbps but just shows 16 mbps all the time!

Without interference from a third party or some other unexpected interference you should almost never see a VPN improve your speed. Last mile bandwidth is a pretty stable queue/speed for anything you're uploading/downloading. If you see faster speeds on a VPN I'd assume content based throttling from your ISP or location-based from wherever you're pulling from.

Hitting exactly half used to get explained away by things like something in the network forcing half-duplex but that seems unlikely these days.

Thanks!! I just found out too by asking from other forums. I was about to get one. Would have wasted me more money. Guess it's time to call my provider again :/
