    Radeon VII in da house!

    Just got this badboy.....
    Radeon VII.jpg

.......not gonna install it yet as I plan to do a few benchmarks with my Gigabyte RX VEGA 64 Gaming OC first, then compare the results after the swap. Also, bear in mind I'm testing on a rather old platform:
    i7 4770K
    Asrock Z87 Extreme 6
    2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2133MHz

Not exactly cutting edge, but it does what I need it to do so I don't feel a need to upgrade it.

Nah, I wasn't involved in gaming back in the Voodoo days, I started out in the GF2 MX400 era, went up to an Abit GF4200 Ti, which I recall selling after just a couple of weeks, went for the ATi 9700 Pro and haven't looked back. During the time I was away, I did buy both AMD and nVidia cards.....even had 2x GTX Titan and 2x R9 290X rigs at the same time. I've toned down my GPU purchases as of late and now only have one CF rig , other than my Radeon VII, I have a 2x Gigabyte RX VEGA64 CF rig, and a Leadtek GTX1080 HTPC/gaming rig.

Anyway, I did run just a couple of benchmarks comparing the VEGA64 vs Radeon VII, I believe my VEGA64 (for one reason or another) did not quite boost the its clocks to the usual 1500MHz - 1600MHz, instead, it was around 1300MHZ, still, it's too far behind to even approach the VII even IF it'd been running normally. Funny thing is, when I'd removed the VEGA64 and have it run in CF mode in another rig, it consistently does about 1610MHz, whaddupwiddat?!

Here's a shot of my test rig, nothing spectacular since I'd not bothered to upgrade to the latest Intel or AMD Ryzen+ platform.
    Specs: Intel i7 4770K @4ghz, 2x 8GB 2133MHz RipJawsX, Gigabyte RXVEGA64/PowerColor Radeon VII, ASRock Z87 Extreme6, Enermax MAXREVO 1500W, 64bit Win10 Pro v1809
    The card...

The rig, do pardon the mess, now in the midst of a lazy rut (when am I not?) so I've not quite gotten around to buy the necessary cables to reorganize things...

    Firestrike Extreme benchmark, Radeon VII

    Firestrike Extreme benchmark, Gigabyte VEGA64

Metro Last Light Redux @3440x1440 at stated ingame setting
    Radeon VII

VEGA64, just add about 8-10fps (I guess) more to stated framerate
