I’m very discrete. I have no code of brand loyalty. I will build anything, anywhere; Gaming PC, workstation, HTPC, doesn’t matter. I just love building.

I haven’t run Crossfire setups since the 5970 and 7970 series. I used to run SLI setups but forced myself to stop by going ITX. What about going Radeon VII crossfire?
Spectacular setup!

My wife and I just did an Ikea run to get our game room properly setup. Pictures forthcoming...she's currently cursing in Bulgarian to while drilling things. I refuse to assemble Ikea furniture.

Yesssss.... The update is everything got delayed due to having to fix the garage first. I'm hoping to make some headway this weekend.

My 2600K HTPC rig has been sold, so my 4770K with GTX1080 has replaced it as my HTPC rig. Also built a main gaming rig (3960X and 4770K are kinda long in the tooth now), so I'd built a Ryzen unit -
Ryzen R9 3900X (12C/24T)
Thermaltake Water 3.0 360mm AIO
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme
PowerColor RX VEGA 64 Red Devil (reusing from old rig)
4x 8GB XPG DDR4 D60G 3200 RAM
Samsung 4TB 860 EVO + Samsung 860 QVO (games)
6TB WD Black (games)
2TB Seagate Barracuda (downloads, music, movies)
CoolerMaster H500M
Corsair HX1000 Platinum

Awaiting big NAVI 23 to come next year before I'll upgrade the GPU, meanwhile, the Red Devil is doing pretty good in games.....it does struggle a bit in newer game @3440x1440 but still quite playable.

I'm rather ashamed to admit my last self built PC was a socket 754 Athlon64 3000 with an ATI Radeon X850XT even though I work in IT and have no issue building PC's, that particular one was such a nightmare with having to wait for rma's and similar it put me off building a PC again and having to do the same for faulty parts. In that case it turned out the parts were all fine but the cooler was out of spec and touching part of the motherboard....sigh. I've been running an i7 3930K system for many years now but it's been struggling with wireless VR and with Ryzen processors looking great I decided to bite the bullet and build my own system.
It's been a bit stressful working out all the compatibility as I worry about these things more than I should but now it's all together I'm much more pleased with it than I expected. I've been a member of the forums here for 16 years and particularly in the early years liked reading about all the high end parts I couldn't afford as a poor university student but this time I've splurged quite a bit on parts, wireless VR performance has been great and clearly my old system was struggling more than I thought but the most impressive part is how quiet the system is. I was alarmed when I first powered it on and it was silent thinking I've really mucked up the cabling somehow.
This is what the new system packs:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900x - waited for the 3950x but they were immediately out of stock and ETA's are months away
Noctua DH 15 CPU cooler
Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB DDR4 3200Mhz
Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII wifi
Fractal Define R6 USB-C case
Corsair RM850X 850W
Geforce GTX 1070 8GB - not upgraded from the last system but the RTX cards don't seem worth it at the moment
2TB SSD/44TB HDD storage
Asus BD-rom

I particularly like the case which was a struggle to choose as I wanted something with no rgb, that would fit an ATX board, that could take an optical drive and a decent number of hard drives but also fit within the tight space on my desk. The Fractal Define R6 does all that, it's quiet, has a good few ports on the front and I think it looks great. I had initially tried to order it with a solid side but they weren't in stock or silly prices but now I've seen the tempered side I'm pleased with it.
Leviathan - AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, Noctua NH D15 Cromax, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR 3200Mhz, Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB, 2TB SSD/44TB HDD. Fractal Design R6, Corsair RM850X
