CPU Temp running high?
Bought a PIII 600 and a Heatsink w dual fans. Attached w/o thermal grease it ran @ 204 F. I then reattached it with thermal grease and it is running from 160-170 F.
Is the current temp that the CPU is running at, is it considered high?
What is the best Heatsink/Fan for a Slot 1 PIII?
Thanks.

I don't know about the best heatsink and fan but that temp could be lower. It will work but keep in mind you can never be too cool. Perhaps it is your case cooling? Sorry i can't help too much.

its pretty dam high!!!
on a p3-600, your max temp should be around 110. now shutdown your computer and try again before you end up losing a CPU or mobo.
