Webcam Question

Ok i just built a new computer and when i try to use my webcam i get a error message saying "Unable to connect to capture device (eg..camera)if another application is using the capture device close it." I already tried reinstalling the software and unistalling it and reinstalling windows and then reinstalling the software and both didnt work. Any ideas?

How is the device connected to your computer? Is it USB or parrallel or what? Could be that there is another program running in the backround that is using it, try restarting into safe mode (Press F5 repeatedly during bootup) That ensures that there is nothing else running in the backround. BTW, what kind of software are you using with this cam?

Its on usb its a Intel Create and Share camera/software and if there was something using it in the background i dont know what it would be
