    Post WIN2K wont install

    Cant install windows 2000 pro
I am currently running a windows 98SE OS on my pc and want to install windows 2000 pro. I cant upgrade as my current OS is in spanish so i need to make a complete install from new. Once the files have copied onto my hard drive and the machine reboots, it tells me that it cant install due to an UNBOOTABLE_DRIVE_ERROR, preceeded by 3 hexadecimal strings. It then goes on to tell me that "IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT YOU HAVE SEEN THIS SCREEN CHECK THE HARD DRIVE FOR VIRUSES.....ETC ETC, OR REBOOT THE MACHINE AND TRY AGAIN.." After several attempts with no joy, I then Reverted to installing WIN98 in SPANISH again, and to my dispair when copying the WIN98 files onto the hard drive for installation, It then gave me a SOVWIN error, so i changed the install directory to WIN98 instead of C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS.000 and C:\WINDOWS.001 which i believe were created when i was trying to repeatedly install WINDOWS 2000 PRO. I DESPERATELY want to get windows 2000 pro on my machine but cant figure it out. CAN ANYBODY HELP???!!! Any sort of information would be better than continuing with windows in SPANISH.

Tell us more about your computer. You should do a clean install and don't try to update Win98 with Win2k.
