We looked at it a long time ago and never actually finished the piece. There is an article in the works tho.

To me it seems too late. If Kyro would have hit the streets 3 months ago in both PCI and AGP format, it might have owned the value-level video card market. But it seems that title is going to the GeForce MX.

Well, I just want to read about something different. I'm sick of Nvidia and 3dfx! From what I hear the PowerVR technology is very cool if applied(Not the Matrox card) properly. Like to see what it can do nowadays.
It appears to have OpenGL issues (MB specific?) so if they aren't fixed then beware. Otherwise, the D3D performance looked very interesting on some benchmarks..

I like the card. Very strong performance for such a low clock setting. I might buy just to support the anti-nvidia cause. As you know I'm definitely going to buy a Voodoo 5 6000. I MUST have it! That is if it ever comes out. Anyway, good job!

After looking at the benches..man..This card is going to kill nvidia unless they can do the same tech. I feel the same way with killing off nvidia. I'm getting sick of there over priced cards.

Ymaster, I've got the same feelings regarding nvidia, but take a look at the scores. My GTS with a Athlon700 (almost same speed as the 650) scores at 6100 in the defaultbenchmark. Their score is less than 3000 which is more the speed pf a v3. I wonder what's wrong with these numbers.

The whole artical stinks to me..I found a few better,..umm.. more realistic numbers at http://chickshardware.com ?? I think it was them? I'm Very very tired right now. The kyro is not a killer but it does show you can do more with less. Now if only they could make the kyro with nvidia parts..hmm

At low resolutions and using 16-bit color the MX board kills the KYRO chipset, but who cares. Once you start getting into some power gaming...like 1024X768@32bpp, the KYRO starts to take over, beating out the MX boards in nearly all benchmarks. And things will only get better as the drivers are optimized. The OpenGL scores shown at ChickHardware are already way out of date as the newer drivers show lots of improvement. Also, a recently released registry entry by ImgTec also helped improved MDK2 scores (once again killed at lower resolutions but kicks *** at higher resolutions), and Quake III engines scores. I have been using a pre-release board for a while and I can say that each new driver release enhances gameplay significantly, especially in OpenGL. Realize that this is the first full OpenGL ICD by ImgTec and there are sure to be some growing pains. But, D3D performance is great, and games based on the UT engine simply fly. Not two bad for a card that is basically built like a TNT2 board.
