I found out something that I can't understand, and I hope someone here has an answer for this...
I overclocked my Celeron 566 to 850 without any problem. It runs stable and performance is great. Then I turned on the system monitor in W98 SE and saw a cpu load between 14% and 18%. This is quite high, so I did a restart and rechecked and it still was between 14% and 18%. Then I changed the cpu settings back to 566 and checked again. Now the cpu load was at 4%! That's what I normally expect after a fresh restart.
So my question is; why is the cpu load only 4% at 566 Mhz, and 14-18% at 850 Mhz after a restart?
This bothers me a lot, so I hope that someone has an answer.
just in case you want to know; my system
MB: Abit be6 II
CPU: FCPGA Cel.566
RAM: 128MB PC100
Grafik: PCI TNT1 card
Sound: PCI SB16
Two HD on pri.IDE
CD+CDR on sec.IDE
What OS are you using? In Win Me I have heard rumors that programs tend to show that your CPU is running under a heavier load then it is. On my system, it shows my system is running under 100% load all the time in Win Me. Doesn't matter what my celeron 566 is running at.
