There are allot of dangers using one of those and you will need a watercooling settup to cool that pelt. The pelt you use will depend on how low of a temp you want to go. Recomend at least a 156 Watt tec. That will require at least a 12 volt supply that can handle a 11AMP load. You have to deal with condensation and a whole lot of other factors if you plan on using one, advise, get all the info you can, and it is not cheep after all is said and done. First though get rid of that orb, they are worthless. Get a fob or somethiong that can handle over 1G. You may just be happy with the results and not need a pelt. My 1G AXIA is at 1378MHz with fob-38, though I will be using a 172 watt pelt on it cause I feel the need for speed.

This is totally wrong. My classic Athlon wont boot at 1020MHz with water cooling but add the pelts, well look at my sig. The more you overclock your chip the more sensitive the chip is to heat, why do you think people are going for extreme cooling?

Like I said before first get a better HSF, the super orb are not that good for anything over 1G. try a fob-38, picked mine up for $24.
See how this does, then if you want more, go to water then pelts. Make sure thats what you want though, it is expensive and time consuming.
But yes if a heatsink wont do it then supercooling will.

When the computer first boots, the CPU's temp is the same as the ambient. If heat is a limiting factor, it will only become obvious within a number of minutes or hours, when the CPU's temp climbs. Extreme cooling takes care of the extra heat produced by extreme overclocking that makes it past the boot, but creates lots of heat.
I can't really explain your results, but I don't find it logical that different types of cooling make any difference in the first seconds after powering on, since all the components are cool.

With a Pal6035 and a Delta fan I couldn't even post above 1520 and only could get into windows at 1507ish on a limited basis. With standard watercooling I can post and almost boot into windows @ 1610! I'm also starting to see the exponential relastionship between heat and clock frequencies, when playing with extreme overclocking it appears that that last 1C makes a difference between rock stable and crash-n-burn.

Your wrong
My celeron cant boot 1200 with a retail HSF but it can boot it with a pelt. Look at your bois the cpu temp on startup is around your max load temp.

That's defenetly good enough for me! Gonna get me one of those bad boys! As it is now with my orb the cpu get's unstable at 1166 and the highest it will post at is 1186MHz, but after some usage i get a blue screen. and that's at 1.80v.. Increasing it won't help at all.. So i hope this is due to my crappy hsf. I just want it too get above the 1200 line...
My temp is 53C after looping the UT demo for 20mins, so if it would get any higher than that it would probably be unstable.

You have an A7V so get a Alpha PEP66w/delta they are the second best HSF avail for Socket A
