    Post 'nother problem

    Sambo has another problem (not mine).

    He has reformatted his hard drive, but while installing Windows 98 (not SE), the screen goes blank, as if on stand by. It remains that way on restart.

    What's the deal?

    I would try setting the bios to setup defaults. Then if he can get it up install the latest bios drivers right away

    I had this problem with a VIA chipset on a friends comp but his came up in safe mode and I was able to put in the AGP driver for the chipset and that fixed it all.
