Question Detonator 3 gives slower framerate!

I just installed the new detonator drivers but I experienced a decrease in the crusher demo in quake2.

    Has anyone experinced anything similar?
    What could the problem be?

    My system is as following:
    Celeron 366@450
    128 Pc-100 Sdram
    Creative 256 Pro

I have a very similar system. Your lower result is because D3 drivers decrase performance in non-bandwidth-limited situations (like Q2 at low res). In higher-bandwidth situations (try any game at high res, 32 bit color) the D3 drivers increase performance slightly on the DDR GeForce. The improvement is much better on an MX or GTS, but if you like to use low resolutions and/or older games you might want to go back to 5.30.

    Thumbs up

Kilentra is absolutely right. Your slight decrease is normal.

    Question

Is there no way to boost my framerate in quake2? I'm almost running below 30 fps....

    Cool

I can't see your problem, if the older driver (det2) is better for u, use it...

Well, I just installed WinMe and my old geforce drivers (the ones that came with the card) dont work under WinMe. The ones that WinMe installede itself are not compatible with Quake2 so I had to install detonator3 to get quake2 working at all....(Sorry for the misspellings....I'm drunk :-))

Any information on whether the new beta 6.26 drivers have addressed these performance issues that some folks are having with the 6.18's?
I'm getting an ASUS V7100/T GF2 MX card next week, and will need the D3 drivers for the TwinView, and I've been a bit paranoid about the 6.18's.
I generally run games at 800x600x32, so the info in these posts makes me feel a bit better, but I'm curious about the 6.26's.

Look.... when I changed the drivers to the Det3 the framerate was slower... I have the same video card the Creative Annihilator Pro and I changed back to the last version (the one before the det3) and it is working just fine..... in Q3, Half-Life, Unreal, NFLBlitz, Revolt, NFS (2,3,4,5), ect.... this drivers are fine for this video card....

Yeah but what OS are you using? Win98?

And the problem is my framerate in Quake2, not any of the games you metion :-) (Yeah I'm an actionquake fanatic)

Oh and to Sharky and Kilentra; I wouldn't call a "slight" decrease....we are talking about 15-20 frames or so...

ah what the hell....I'm swithching back to Win98

    Question

Talking about Detonator drivers, I installed it for my ATB TNT card and messing around with the resolution a game froze and I had to reboot. Now The resolution stays at 640x480 no matter what. I tried reinstalling but nothing helps,
My question will be how to remove the driver completely, Maybe if I start from scratch it will work! thanks
