I've realized that when i create a game in Starcraft, i cant get the other computer to join my game. Conversly, when i have the 2 computers plugged into the router, no one else can join my game.
This applies to other games i play as well.
How do i fix this? and why does it happen?!
HELP!!!!
Thanks for your time in advance.

Ok, let's just say I have spent half my life in the past 2 years trying to figure out why I cannot host games over the internet while sharing an internet connection. This is one of 2 things,
1: You must purchase multiple IP adresses from your ISP (but who would want to do that anways)
2: Or you can do it the hard way, which most prefer, saves money. You must open ports on your router to accept incoming information from other computer out on the internet (or in your case, battle.net). The ports you must open for Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo 2, Warcraft 2 Battle.net Edition are..
Port(s) 6112-6114, 4000 for inbound and outbound TCP AND UDP packets
Yes that probably sound confusing but you must do this to host games/join games over the internet. Very irritating to set up but it works. If you dont know how to open ports or whatnot go here, it lists a whole page of ports that must be open for each popular PC game out there today... http://www.practicallynetworked.com/..._port_list.htm
and search how to open ports, or search about stuff that says port mapping etc etc
You say you use a router, try their homepage and see if and/or how you can open ports with your router's software/firware
Or you can wait and share your connection with ICS on WindowsXP (which I hear has better support for port mapping than Windows 9x and 2k)
This is a very irritating thing to do, just to host some freaking games! Good luck my gaming friend, hopefully ICS on WinXP will give us all better support
LOL Oh my god LOL the last post I made was in reference so you can host games behind a LAN network over the internet, I feel so dumb now, sorry about that.
HAHA anyways if you want to just host a game of Starcraft over your LAN, all you have to do is install the IPX/SPX protocol in your Network neighborhood settings for both computers.
Use my last post if you cant host games on battle.net or the internet in general for other outside gamers to join your games

Read my second post if you just have 2 computers on your network at home and want to play Starcraft between the two computers. Don't read the first post if you just want to play Starcraft with your two computers at home.
BTW in my second post I was laughing at myself, not you, I don't laugh at newbies, everyone is a newbie at something
