Yea, I get into funks sometimes. Half-Life was the last game to really suck me in. Diablo 2 is fun but I haven't gotten IN to it yet. Waiting impatiently for Alice though.
If I couldn't type drunk, I'd still be Expensive Sushi.

I have the same problem. But every time I have that problem, I just load up CS and it goes away.

I've had the same problems...hell, I am still having them! I think, though, that maybe the urge to play is leaving. I don't think VG's entertain me as much anymore. I don't know why, I keep TRYING to like them but it just makes me spend money on games that I don't want. Like this weekend, I bought Orge Battle 64 , supposedly a fantastic game, but it didn't hold my interest much past the Tutorial. So I have been looking around for better things to do with my time, trying to pick up new hobbies. It's hard and it takes time but I think I am willing.
Who knows, maybe you are tired of them too.
Just where I stand,

part of the problem is that we expect so much of games these days. There are a lot of good games, but if they aren't immersive enough quickly, then they get boring. Often, many games must be stuck with for a while before they become interesting. Most games these days HAVE become just technology demos.
I hate to say it, but Halo, Max Payne etc don't sound too interesting storywise. They sound fairly "same-old". Sure the games will rock, and will be very immersive, but are the stories going to be good enough?
Games like Half Life suck us in because of the amazing immersion and story. MP games are fun, but can get boring because there is often no point to them, beyond massacring everyone. We as intelligent gamers (and people), like a direction and reason for being. Which is why Half Life immersion is so important.
Have you guys played Deus Ex? Great game. Extremely immersive. Extremely interesting. One of the best things is that it can be played so many ways. I have played the first mission so many times, testing different strategies. And they are all believeable. The game isn't perfect (I wish) but it is the most immersive I have played in a very long time. What about Bladur's Gate 2 or Planescape Torment? They have great stories, and (for me anyway) very immersive if you like RPGs.

If you've played UT, Q3,HL and DeusEx, theres not much left to get excited about right now.
Let's just wait for Max Payne and Duke forever.

Does the same happen to you guys ???
Yes, occasionally, it does. Sometimes I cure the slump with a replay of an old classic from my library. It includes my still working Atari 2600 and over 100 roms
Are the old pc games just collecting dust on a shelf? Pull one down and load it up. The oldies didn't have alot of eye candy but they sure did sport a tons of gameplay.

The only game to keep me interest up is definitely the Adventure Blade Runner - this games looks good and the story line is incredible, different endings etc. when will another game this good come out.

I agree... games do get boring after a while... in my opinion, I am all for going back to some single player games .. especially role playing with awesome stories like Final Fantasy =)
