FPS are the same as usualy but every about 2 seconds it feels like lagging...

Hey everyone I was messing with my old 3d card so i could use tv/out which this newer card couldnt do. So after i used the old vid card i hooked it up back upto the better vid card....voodoo3 2000 and then it had like 30fps in counterstrike...the usualy but it lags ever like 1-2 seconds ***??? I uninstalled 3dfx and then re-downloaded it and installed them again and the same problem. Could it be something other than the 3d-card? And i dont notice it in the desktop only in games. AND i re-downloaded glsetup and still the same thing.....hm somethings really screwed.

Anyone have an idea whats going on?

Make sure you have the latest drivers/directX/openGL/glide/3dfx/bios/chipset drivers.

Check your system resources. 80%+ free is preferable. Check your virtual memory settings.

pc 450mhz, pc100, 12gb 5400rpm, ......dont know its not a hardware problem, cuz it worked fine b4....so 4sure its a software glitch

When I launch the RealBot program in Counter-Strike and adding over 10 bots the game seems to lag very 2-3 seconds. However, when I normally play over the Internet, this doesn´t occur. It might be driver related though..

i've got the same card as you. voodoo3 2000, and i have the same problem. i have been using this card for around 2 years now. the fps is very good, but it seems to lag after every few seconds. since i'm gonna buy a new 3d card soon, my temporary fix to this is to overclock the card to around 165 mhz, and the problem is almost unnoticeable. try it. i recommend VCONTROL for it, cuz with VCONTROL you don't have to restart your PC after overclocking.

Is this just internet games? Or do all games do it? Cause maybe you have a suck cconnection lately. but it must be driver realted cause on my old system P2-400 128MB pc-100 ram TNT 1 16MB I can run counter strike 1152X864 and get very smooth FPS. Unlesss your resolution is already very low you could try backing it down a notch.
