    Anyone still playing UT2004?

Yeah so all the new UT3 hype has me all excited again, and I'm thinking bout installing UT2004 again just to refresh my memory lol. Just curious if any old school CWC'ers still dabble in the occasional UT game? I don't even have it installed anymore, but I think I'm gonna have to reinstall it sometime this weekend.

Give me a holler if you wanna play, I can always fire up Xfire since I have no idea about the servers these days.

not so much...downloading zounds and stupid mutators has really killed the game for me...it's nearly impossible to find a good stock (or slightly modified) server that has people and doesn't ping over 200 or runs crappy andaction maps

If you like Onslaught, then there's still a few good servers every night.

My favorite is "Carcass Factory" (custom map server w/ LOTS of maps, few if any lame ones, and you'll almost always find people on it. Just a couple days ago it was full at 32 players).

Network 602 is also really good (well, for me at least. I get < 20 pings on there since it's hosted in my city ), but rarely do they play custom maps.

Unfortunately, other game modes are significantly less popular. Too bad, because Bombing Run was my favorite of them all.

On first seeing this thread, I had planned on re-installing UtT 2K4 and going at it. Since then, I've been totally in to Game Table Online, so I'm not sure now. If we can get a few Sharkies into a UT game, I'll reinstall, and it's on like Donkey Kong.

You over exaggerate far too much. There are a number of TAM servers that almost always have people in them. There are two well known TDM servers running that get people in them a majority of the time.

TAM is somewhat like Counter Strike. You play in rounds. Once every member of a team is dead, the other team wins the round. If a team wins 10 rounds, they win the map. You die, you go to spectate mode and watch through your teammates eyes. Usually runs stock maps like Grendelkeep and Rankin, although there are a few popular custom maps like Goose and Campgrounds. You can go to http://www.3spn.net to download the latest version and put it into your system folder so you can select Team ArenaMaster from the Gametype drop-down menu.

Freon is a knock-off of Freezetag from Quake. It's kinda popular, not entirely. Works just like TAM - Round based. Once every person is frozen, other team wins the round, blah blah blah. If you add the TAM files to your system folder you'll also see Freon in the Gametype down down menu.

That's hard to believe as most of the servers are empty. I still play, but mostly ig-ctf. I'd be up for a game if other sharkys are.

I installed it about a month ago and played a bit, but yeah most of the servers suck and are empty.

I actually got into a really good CTF server the other day. Was running stock CTF with no goofy mutators, and I was pinging in the low 60's and it consistently had 12-16 people the entire time. And to my surprise almost all the players on the server were really good so it made for some fun, very even matches.

Unfortunately my favorite gaming type by far is Bombing Run, and there were only about 4-5 servers running it with no people on

Mine won't uninstall for some reason lol.
I'll jump on Wicked Game Server or the Homer servers,
but they are extremely modified maps, vehicles gadgets etc.
