    Post Generic and specific RAM

I am donating my old PC (p200MMX with 32mb EDO RAM) to a mate of mine, In his antique 486sx he has 32mb of Manufacturer specific RAM (simms but non EDO) I know that you can mix EDO and non EDO (and yes I know that it will run at the speed of the non EDO) but can I safely mix the RAM from two different machines. I know that his is make specific but I don't know about mine. If I mix two either generic and specific or two different types of specific will it work?

i think the best solution to your problem is to just go ahead and try it to see if it works or not
