    Unhappy W32.Pinfi virus!!

GOod thing I can still get on the Internet. This just happened today when I woke up. This virus is affecting most of my exe files. Right now I'm doing a major virus scan. I'm even using two virus scanners(Norton and Ontrack). I don't know how this virus infected my pc. All I know is the last thing I downloaded and installed was a HULK desktop theme from themeworld.com. It was a WINzip file so I scanned that before installing it and there was no virus on it. I left my computer on all night last night too and noticed Kazaa lite was on. I think my girlfriend was downloading music. Could Kazaa be causing a virus if its left on all night? Norton virus alert screen keeps on popping up and fortunately, it says that the files are being repaired. Even .exe files under WINNT folder are infected and are being repaired.

You better believe you can get a virus from having kazaa going, though norton should stop them. Change your settings to delete rather than repair on norton and scan every file you download off kazaa, without fail.

Delete no question. Realistically though, with that kind of infestation, a format is the only way to be sure you got rid of everything. Trust me, format and learn from the experience.
