Who makes the best budget priced scanners?

Well, my Canon scanner didn't survive the house move so I need a new one. I must admit I was less than thrilled about it's perfoemance and build quality but that's what you get for a cheap scanner of EBay.
So now it's time for another one and I'm left with 4 choices of manufacturers. BenQ(which is really Acer under another name and has been good to me in the past..my 17", 19" and CD Burner are all Acer/BenQ), HP, Epson or another Canon.

Anyone want to give any opinions on who is the best?

Doesn't matter, just ordered the Epson scanner 1260 Photo USB. Seemed like a good bargin and I now hate anything to do with Canon Scanners...cheap junk!
