    Linksys help??

    why when i leave my cable downloading over night.. and i wake up... i lost my connection.. then i always have to unplug the power and plug it in again.... i mean i leave it for like 3 to 6 days... it happens to Linksys user alot.. i think... but anyone know how to fix this..

    Upgrade the firmware on the Linksys router to the latest. I believe it is 1.44.2. Anyhow, if this doesn't fix the problem call the cable company and tell them you are having problems with frequent disconnects, and see what they can do about it.

    I had this same problem with the BEFSR81 (8 port version) I had the router for about 8 months working fine then it just started lossing connectivity to my ISP (RoadRunner in Houston) Only way it would start working again was to reboot the router. Called Linksys and they had me try eeverything I tried on my own over and over again till finally the agreed, something was jacked with the hardware.

    Got a new one and no more problems. Been running my current one for over a yr problem free.
