Can anybody Tell Me Why?? I think its the cpu frequency jumpers on The Mo-Bo but when i set the jumper frequency to 133 it refuses to boot up??? New CPU New Mo-Bo an everything. Now Have Frequency Set to 100 And Boot Fine And Works, But @ 2Ghz

That is your problem. 100 mhz * 20 = 2000, 133 mhz * 20 = 2660. Just change the setting to 133 and you will be golden. You probably have to mess with the ram dividers to get it to boot at 133. That would be my guess atleast. I have built a few systems with those ECS boards and they can be tricky.

Thanks Ranger2992,
So Ok, im clear on that it has to be a frequency of 133 which i can change no problem. But as for the "ram dividers" I would assume that these are jumpers on the board somewhere that have to be configured?. Any help on this one please.

No they are in the Bios. I don't know your board so it would be best to look in your owners manual for this. It will probably be listed as Dram frequency or something like that.

Ok I just downloaded your motherboard manual and I am pretty sure I found it. It's on the same page where you set your frequency for the fsb. You may have to reboot the computer at the lower clock speed to get into the bios and fix this.
When you boot the computer, hit the delete key a few times to get you into the BIOS. One you are in you should get the blue screen with that has the main menue on it. Choose advance chipset features(pg 35 of manual). On the next screen choose Dram Timing. The first time out, I want you to choose SPD from the list of options for Dram Timing. If this doesn't work you will just have to try the different settings and try to boot each time.
There is one thing I want you to do before you try any of the above. I want you to make sure the jumper on the board is set to 133 and then I want you to remove all power from the computer and reset the CMOS. You will do this with jumper JP1(pg 9 in the manual) The reason I say to do all of this is because it should be automatic for your MB to set itself the right way if the jumpers where in the right place when you started up. Give it a try and let me know if it works.

Thanks Once Again Ranger2992
But On my manual it tells me that the Clear CMOS jumper is JBAT1 is that still ok? Im not being a div, just dont want to bust my new PC as you can apreciate. And By Screwing around with these jumpers can I Blow Something Up??(Ask A Silly Question Get a Silly Answer I Suppose!) Im gonna try you suggestion in abot 10 Minutes ill get back to you in a second. Thanks Buddy.

ranger2992,
Thanks for your dedication to my Case
Im Not sure That You Have The Exact manual So Ive Given You The URL
ftp://ftp.ecs.com.tw/manual/eng/p4vxasd2p50aeng.zip
I tried what you said more or less, but On my MoBo I have two jumper Frequency settings and The Bios Is Not exactly as you said I hope that once you see the manual from The URL Ive Given You It will Explain Something to You. Im wondering if it has something to do with The Following Jumpers. (J2A, J2B, J2C J2D, J3A, J3B, J3C and J3D) something to do with the dimm or DDr settings. I have Set The Dram Voltage (JP1) To Open 2.5V(DDR) JP2 I Havent Touched (Wakeup On Keyboard), J13 (Flash Rom Voltage) I Havent Touched, JP4 (Flash Rom Size) I havent Touched. I Hope I Have Helped You To Understand A Little more This Problem Plaes Dont Give Up On Me. I Appreciate Your Help. Thank once Again.

Oh yeah I remember this board. Ok JBAT1 is the clear CMOS. So to clear the CMOS you are goiing to move the jumper over to pin 2-3. When you do this make sure the PS is uplugged. Once you have cleared the CMOS, move the jumper back to the 1-2 position. Now before you reboot you need to make sure the other jumpers are set correct. It looks like there are 2 seperate jumpers for CPU frequency, JP1A1 and JP1B1. From the picture it looks like each of those is a 3 pin configuration. If that is the case, you would simply just remove the jumper to set those at 133 fsb. Next you need to set the DDR voltage, this is done by removing the jumper on JP1. By doing this you set the DDR voltage to 2.5V. The last jumper setting you need to check is J2A/B/C/D and J3A/B/C/D. If your computer has been booting I have to assume these jumpers are set correct and you shouldn't have to mess with them. Do all of the above and then boot your computer. Cross your fingers and it should boot up at 2.66. Let me know what happens.

Hi Ranger 2992, Thanks For the response,
So your telling me just to remove both the jumpers (JP1A1 and JP1B1)from the Motherbaord so set the CPU frequency to 133mhz is that right?? Thanks in advance
