    Which PSU?

    My friend is in need of a power supply. And he's narrowed it down to an Antec/Enermax 350W, or the Antec Truepower 330W. What do you guys think? Or should I try to convince him to get the Truepower 380 for a more future proff computer? I'm sure he'll be using a power hungrey Radeon sometime. He is on a somewhat tight budget, which is the only reason I'm not pushing for a Truepower 380 right now.

    Get him an Enermax 350FMA. I have the same thing and here are my rails:

    5V = 4.99-5.00
    12V = 11.98-11.99
    Vcore = 1.60

    My other rails are spot on, this is the best PSU ever made

    You know I really do love the Enermax, I think my next PSU would be another one.. Even over the Antec

    Why is the Enermax/Antec on the same selection? Of the two I would pick the Enermax 350. The Antec True330 is even better than the Antec 350.

    the Antecs don't pump out nearly enough juice on the 12volt rail. GO with an Enermax... they are always better. I burnt out 2 generics and an Antec figuring that out.

    Ahh there he is! Yeah, Ash recommended this PSU to me and I must thank him. By far the best purchase I've ever made...

    I recently put in an Antec 350W (Solution Series) and I have to say I'm not impressed. I've been pretty much 'pro-Antec', but proof is in the pudding:

    Not very stable. I had expected better. Maybe it's time to step up to the True or get an Enermax....

    Like I said all the specs for the "TruePower" power supplies are better than the older ones. The 330 is actually a lot better than the 350. Still I usually do see better 12v rails listed on the Enermax. I really wanted the 550W enermax but it cost too much at the time of my purchase and could not be found locally.

    My Antec TP550 is OK, but I miss my old Enermax 430(?). It is now in my wife's machine, she got it because she got my old mobo/proc, etc. I loved the manual fan speed control on top of the bullet-proof performance.

    Wow, a lot of people don't like Antec as much as I thought. Do you guys think the Truepower 430W I have is good?

    It's fine, I just found that I prefer Enermax over Antec. Had to try the Antec because they are always favorably placed in the same quality category as Enermax. Whenever I get my next p/s I'll switch back to Enermax though.

    I think a lot of people do like them because they are very good quality. The only preference I have for Enermax is for dual CPU systems and highly overclocked systems that have a ton of other hardware. But if you have an Antec that exceeds your needs your fine. That can not be said for some of the cheapo PSUs which might not only meet all your needs, but also put your system at risk for damage.

    I would go with the Enermax 350W power supply. You won't regret it.
