    Computer gradually loses RAM

    Hi,

So on my new rig I'm having the same problem as on my laptop - after leaving it on for a couple of days the amount of free RAM I have severely depreciates, even though I have the same amount of apps running. So say I start up and there's .7/1GB free and now 2 days later there's 300MB free. The processes in the task mgr do not add up to anywhere close to 700MB (more like 120 tops), so I don't understand where all this RAM is going. My VM is set to 1.5-3GB. Any ideas?

I would think its just memory "leakage"- apps not releasing memory properly when they have finished with it. If its a problem you could always download a memory manager to claim it back.

    It is memory leakage.

Yeah, I thought it'd be something like that. Well I'm gonna try to find a mem manager that works well with large amounts of RAM - so far I haven't had much luck.

    Hi:

The best solution is to turn the computer off everyday.

Don't run a server, but usually have a few renders running overnight, and those use a lot of memory. I insalled the trial version of WinTasks pro, but don't see how that takes care of leaks...
