    Bluetooth question

I was just looking at MX700 and MX900 and found out that MX900 uses bluetooth. So is this why it costs more than the MX700? They look identical so I think they should be the same in terms on functionality. So question is what is bluetooth and what advantage does it have other regular wireless. Is it just because of its versatility and ease of use?

I know it has longer range for one, and I have heard the mouse charger base can be used as a bluetooth hub if you have other bluetooth devices.

Other than that I'm not sure of the difference, I wander how the battery life compares with bluetooth and regular MX Duo?

I heard range was the same and yes the base is a standard blue tooth hub.

I would stick with the MX700.

So the only difference is really bluetooth? If that's the thing then I'm just gonna go for MX700.

I think the MX700 might actually be a better mouse, the MX900 specs don't show a dpi rating like the MX700 does, I think the plan for selling the MX900 was purely based on the bluetooth part so they possibly didn't make it as good.

The range is farther, rather that matters with a mouse and keyboard I dont know, but you can get upwards of 10+ feet away with bluetooth, where 5 feet is pushing it with the regular MX Duo.

There will be no point for me to get bluetooth then. It's not like I have a 50" monitor why would I need 10 feet.

There is another great thread in general forums that talked about this,... a couple of weeks ago... I head that bluetooth has up to like 30 feet, not to mention good for future bluetooth accessories

the only differences are range and the base is a standard bluetooth hub... both are extremely accurate. i find that mx900 doesent suffer from "wake-up" lag as much as the 700 but the difference is minimal... basically if you want to use your mouse more than 5 feet away from your computer, get the 900, otherwise, the 700 is the exact same mouse.
